Collie Weight

The Collie ...a fairly large dog Dog Breed - Australian Shepard07

The Collie is a large dog with a weight that can range from 50-75 pounds. Females from the breed tend to be smaller. The Collie was breed to be a herding dog and a guard dog. This breed needs daily exercise to stay in shape and stay happy. This dog will be very happy in a large fenced in yard where he can get lots of play time and much needed exercise. These dogs tend to put on weight quickly if they are not given adequate exercise. It is great to offer your dog treats every once in a while, however with this breed it may be best to limit their daily treats.

This breed will measure from 22-26 inches from the ground to his shoulder. The female of the breed may be a bit smaller. The Collie has a sturdy build. If you are looking for a show dog you may wish to visit the Kennel Club's web site at http://www.akc.org/ for specific information on physical requirements to show this breed of dog.
