The Jack Russell Terrier is a breed which requires daily exercise in order to control possible behavioral issues and otherwise to keep the dog healthy. This breed would love to become part of a family who has a large fenced in yard for lots of play time. Even with a fence, you can not let this breed run free. He will need to be kept on a lead. Jack Russell's are know for their digging ability. The fence alone is not enough to contain him.

You will need to take him on many daily walks. If possible it's great to let him run off some of his energy at a safe dog park. With the Jack Russell's need to be active you can feel free to give him plenty of dog treats as rewards for good behavior.
