Alaskan Malamute Activity

You will enjoy spending time with your Alaskan Malamute.

The Alaskan Malamute requires daily activity to keep him healthy. A brisk walk, or run of about 30-45 minutes per day will do. Additionally, it is best to have a fenced in yard for him to play in. This dog thrives on activity. Remember he was originally breed to pull heavy sleds. He us used to and needs the play time. Keeping this dog busy means keeping him happy and out of trouble.

If you choose to give your dog a few delicious dog treats make sure to also give him some extra play time.

In the hot weather, it is important to note that Alaskan Malamutes do NOT handle the heat well. It is best to fit in his daily walk very early in the morning or late at night on hot days. Be sure to carry and offer your Alaskan Malamute some water mid way on the walk.
